India currently generates 3.2 million metric tons of E-waste with the potential to reach 5 million metric tons by 2025 and 10 million metric tons by 2030. At Ecoreco, we are acutely aware of our increasing responsibility as E-waste volumes grow. Our commitment is to provide adaptable solutions for managing the rising tide of urban waste generated from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
Our state-of-the-art WEEE Recycling facility offers end-to-end processing of E-waste. As the first facility registered by the Central Pollution Control Board and authorized by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, our secure and environmentally responsible WEEE Recycling process ensures the utmost protection of the environment while maximizing the recovery of valuable materials from end-of-life electronic equipment.
Ecoreco employs a cutting-edge de-manufacturing line that combines advanced automation with manual processing methods to sort, dismantle, and shred E-waste. Our WEEE Recycling processes are ISO 9001, 14001, 27001, 45001 and R2v3 certified.
Leveraging our proprietary technology for precious metal recovery, we extract valuable materials such as copper, aluminum, silver, and gold from complex electronic scrap. Ecoreco is proud to have received support from National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) for development of precious metal recovery technology and also from CEMAT for Lithium Ion Battery Recycling technology.
The electronic goods industry has experienced a surge in demand due to the introduction of advanced technologies, change in fashion, increasing buying power and digitization. This leads to an accumulation of outdated and unused electronic equipment, commonly referred to as WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). These WEEE items often contain hazardous materials like mercury and lead, posing a significant environmental threat if not properly disposed of. Recognizing this threat, efforts have been initiated for scientific WEEE recycling by Ecoreco.
The global E-waste pile is a growing concern, with millions of tons generated annually. In India alone, approximately 90% of electronic and electrical equipment (WEEE) is improperly dismantled by the unorganized sector, posing risks due to the mishandling of hazardous materials. In contrast, the organized sector employs advanced and eco-friendly technology that not only safeguards stakeholders’ health but also recovers valuable materials from the E-waste.
WEEE recycling covers all types of obsolete electrical and electronic equipment, like fused lighting devices, home appliances, communication devices, IT equipment, medical equipment, and several other WEEE. E-waste is stored in safe and secure containers to avoid any leakage. Since many of these E-waste devices are consisting of reusable, refurbishable and remarkable equipment as well as various commodities like metals, plastic and glass etc. which are scientifically recovered for onward use by the primary manufacturer. At Ecoreco we always take care of meeting the objectives of circular economy, sustainable supply of commodities with a clear mission in mind to achieve “Aatmnirbhar Bharat”.
